At the age of 25, Manish Malhotra forayed into Bollywood by designing for Juhi Chawla in Swarg. Today, his name and designs are an integral part of style in Hindi films and its stars. He revolutionized the fashion scene in Bollywood by envisioning a 'look' for the character.
An interesting career twist came when he was exclusively asked to design clothes for Michael Jackson for his appearance during the Bollywood Awards held in New York. MJ was so pleased that he requested Manish to design outfits for his show in Munich and to design clothes for his children.
His signature styles are splash of bright colors, bold chunky embroidery; a look best for the “fun fearless woman”.
Tarun Tahiliani is one of the most celebrated and “mature” Indian fashion designer according to me. His brand is known for its creative style and uniqueness. All his designer pieces are like wine. The older they get the better.
Tarun Tahiliani’s biggest talent is that he can treat every client separately, with a “unique to the client” piece, yet keep a common signature effect in his design piece which makes it evergreen TT piece. Even his western gowns would be very international and chic and yet you could never mistake it to be an international designer. It will always be TT signature.
My verdict : Manish is young & trendy, but maybe not evergreen. TT can make you look like a doll or equally elegant and mature and ALWAYS BEAUTFUL at the required age. His pieces are timeless.
